It’s about five years since I opened my first custom clothing online shop on Spreadshirt.fr, Boutique du Toon , followed by a shop on Spreadshirt.com Toon shop, then Zazzle.com Toon shop (or zazzle.fr or zazzle.ca depending on your country of residence) thanks to my lover’s support.
Then, during a meeting with other makers in Wellington I discovered the endless possibilities of laser cutting (cardboard, wood, plastic, leather, felt) through the Ponoko site in various “labs” in New Zealand, United States or Italy. I began to design objects for home like candle box, mobile, trivet, coasters, fridge magnet. Some are availables on my Toonshop showroom.
Beside this drawing and designing activities, I started to expose in Clermont-Ferrand, in the tea room of my parents, photos I took in Canada earlier in 2009. exhibition photos on the Toon Shop Facebook page. I’m thinking to distribute new prints of these photos and more… to come in 2014!
2012, Spoonflower is arriving on my activities board. The website allows printing patterns on fabric. I realized among other cushions with coffee grounds available on my page Emjy’s shop. New designs are coming for 2014, if I can find some time after my job and family activities.
Finally, for 2 months, I began to create crochet beanies for children, knitted christmas stocking and watercolor postcards. Thanks to friends support here and there, I participate to my first Christmas market (happiness to communicate face to face with a customer). The remaining caps and some new products are now availables at the workshop shop Identi-t.
As I did in January 2012, here is a brief overview for 2012 and 2013 of the best sellers on the online shops: boutiquedutoon on spreadshirt.fr, toonshop on spreadshirt.com et toonshop on zazzle.com.
Waiting for spring, some new watercolor designs added in Toon’s shop.
You can find them in both shops Spreadshirt or Zazzle:
From Canada / USA
From France / Europe
Here is my new design on Toon Shop: Easter Rabbit.
A lovely pink rabbit offering a big chocolate egg.
This design is an original watercolor painting I made from an old drawing. Like for the Unicorn, I first transferred the drawing on the painting paper before colorizing and adding a background and some more details.
Below are some products from the Spreadshirt’s shop Boutique du Toon (Canada / USA) where you will have a $5 discount on every order with the coupon code: GREENWEEK

A small tree frog for the Toon Shop this week:
I’m often surprised by the results of some patterns once printed on tshirts and other products. My favorite patterns sometimes have a disappointing rendering, they do not fit in the space assigned for printing (the aspect ratio is different between an adult t-shirt, a tank top or A4 paper) or a component is beyond the scope, is cut by the collar, is at the wrong place. But, this time, the result is perfect: long and narrow, the frog seems climbing the model.
Another pattern found in my trunk (box of wonders) I colorized per game and finally tested on the Toon Shop. This one still needs work for a better result.
Is it the beginning of a set? Possible!
For now, here’s two new frogs in addition to other reasons for the Toon Shop and on my personal series of frogs on Flickr: One holding a camembert (french cheese), the other playing petanque (french bowls game).
It all started with a sketch and a watercolor painting I made for a friend in 2000-2001.
So this year, I decided to vectorize it due to the repeated requests of a friend and to participate in the contest Monseur Poulet.
Today just a little word since I participated to a pattern contest on Spoonflower. The theme was Coffee.
Check this contest submissions there is hundreds of submissions. And if you like it, vote for my pattern. Thanks!
Version française Pokez Den
Well, it’s time to return at work! After 2 months to prepare our move (from New Zealand to France) and spent two amazing months in Australia (a lot of inspiration). Now, surrounded by the boxes in our new apartment in Montreal, it’s time to think about the return 🙂
A sweet return with music and the Pokez Den logo. Pokez Den is a music band of Brittany composed by David Rouger (guitar) and Serge Jahan (bagpipe). The are regularly playing at Fest Noz* in Brittany, France.
Here are some tunes from their repertoire
Korrigans du désert
Valse à Bruno
If you want to support them, you can buy a tshirt with their logo on http://boutiquedutoon.spreadshirt.fr/pokez-den-noir-I13949628 or http://boutiquedutoon.spreadshirt.fr/pokez-den-I13949481
