One more flyer

January 27, 2010 1 comment

Still for Alliance Française de Wellington, I created this flyer on one side only. Here are 2 of the 4 suggestions:

The 2 other ones outlined in background the Millau brige and the Arc de Triomphe. Finally, they have chosen the version with the shop even if this one seems to me less interessant. My preference was for the version with the Eiffel tower in background… but I can understand they can’t bear any more this symbol as this one is two often used to depict the France.

To bring out the shop under the text, I have done 6 new versions amongst them are the two below. They are less readable in my opinion… but the customer is king!

The final version is on the right… and you, what is your opinion? Which one would you have chosen?

Colourisation

January 15, 2010 1 comment

Today, bring out a drawing I colourised during last autumn. The original sketch has been done by LN : Sweet enripsa. I first discovered her blog: Shy Attitudes through my random drifts on internet and then her Flickr portfolio. For me, this drawing means the drawing passion and goes perfectly with my urge to seize back the pencils and creating this blog. Finaly, I opted for a colourisation using Photoshop of this drawing to take me off… and that worked well: 2 days of colourisation later, I start drawing again!

A new soumission to the contest “Be creative and win!” from Normann Copenhagen: A World of Water.

This one is much more blue to depict water since the product are water containers. The vases are turned into red corals surrounded by fishes.

I’ve seen today some new submissions in the Normann Copenhagen’s Flickr album… some are simple but creative. Have a look on this album: Submission 2009

Under the Lights

Second participation to the contest Norman Coenhagen as explained yesterday: “Turn around the World”

Under the Lights
Under the Lights – 2009

The title is “Under the lights”in reference of the poduct: a roof light. As the first one, I have kept the strokes simples to keep a visual difference between the product and the drawing.

The woman’s drawing has been done before this contest, in 2003 to illustrate a Maloya dance contest. Native from Reunion Island, Maloya was a rebellion dance to protest against the slavery. This dance consist to move vigorously all the body, trampling and keeping the feet close as if they were hold together by chains.

Do you know Normann Copenhagen? It’s a Danish design company with a good range of nice and invenive products. I love especially the simplicity of their collections. I told you about this company while they started on monday a contest around their last collection. If you want more information, have a look on be creative and win!

Here is my first contribution:

In this picture, I tried to keep it simple, fresh and dynamic emphasizing the movement and the transparency of the glass with an analogy with the earth movement and the atmosphere transparency.
