Inspired by Tattoo and Maori Art

To decorate a piece of furniture made from recycled planks of wood, painted, I drawn the following designs. I will create after a stencil from these designs:

Tattoo Maori

The left one is a copy of a real tattoo found on the web, the right is rather inspired by Maori tattoos. In the right one, you’ll see the white curved forms like new unfurling silver fern frond. This form is called “Koru” and appears in most Maori arts: sculpture, tattoos, jewelry. It symbolized the birth, the growth.

Finally we choose the tattoo design rather than the Maori one. It would have overloaded our furniture.
