Two portraits made from a photography of my brother and my sister-in-law. The reason I choose this portrait was the beautiful complicity they show and the tight framing on their faces.
This portrait looks like a comic’s illustration. The eyes and the beard are simplified.
The second one is better, but far to be perfect. It’s more realistic despite some proportion issues in the eyes and in the main parts of the face.
Notes for myself: apply a grid on the original portrait to kee the proportion, especially the eyes’ size, the nose location and take a closer look at the light reflection in her hair.
Observation, perseverance and work: that’s the the secret!
